People organise themselves to better understand the world around them.
PYP 3 has just started their new Unit of Inquiry on how people organise information to better understand the world. To help determine students prior knowledge on the concept of organisation, students carried a thinking routine called "I SEE, I THINK, I WONDER".
In this thinking routine children were first invited to look around the classroom and say what they could see that helped them organised themselves. Next, they had to choose one of those items and complete the sentence "I think...", referring to the chosen item.
Finally, they said what they wondered their classroom would be like without this item in the classroom.

Mr Men and Little Miss book characters have been used
to discuss what a messy routine would be like and how can things be better
organised.
On Friday, your child took a letter containing instructions for parents and a worksheet with an investigation about how things are organised in a chosen area at home.
